SO YOU'RE THINKING OF HAVING PHOTOS TAKEN...
I'm here to make sure your journey into maternity, newborn, and baby photography is a delightful experience from start to finish.
I love what I do, and I know you're going to love your photos too. I'm a low-pressure kind of person, and I don't believe in pushy sales tactics. In my mind, this is the plain and simple truth: you're about to invest in images that will document this fleeting, precious moment in time, and they'll be yours for a lifetime. These images will be passed down to your children and their children, and I want you to be confident and certain when making a decision about who to trust with those memories.
In my bright white home studio, I believe in the magic of simplicity. You won't find any trendy props or flashy colors here. Instead, I embrace light neutral tones and soft textures that let you and your baby stand out. The result? Modern, yet timeless imagery that you can proudly adorn the walls of your home with.
How does it all work?
Step One: Schedule Your Session
When we've had the chance to chat a bit and you're ready to move forward, the rest of the booking process is quick & simple.
I will collect your session fee of $250, and send you a client agreement contract to sign, securing your spot in my calendar. The session fee covers my time for the preparation, duration, and clean-up for your photo session. Your image collection is purchased separately. More on that below!
As babies rarely arrive on their exact due date, your session date will be officially scheduled when your baby arrives and you reach out to let me know. I will then email you a few dates, and you can let me know which date works best for your family. I am available on weekdays, and have some limited weekend availability if necessary.
Here are a few things to consider:
- Weekend dates are limited and popular. Many clients find that by choosing a weekday, they're more likely to get an appointment in the date range they want.
- Babies and young children are usually in the best mood in the morning. I will try to work around sibling nap schedules if required, but I typically schedule newborn photo sessions to begin at 10:00 or 10:30 a.m. This gives you a chance to wake up and get ready before your session, and have a good breakfast.
Step Two: your Photo Session!
Once we've officially booked your session, I'll send you a guide or blog post with information and tips on how to prepare for your photo session. That guide typically answers 90% of the questions that come up, but I'm always happy to set up a time to chat or answer a quick email if there's anything else you'd like to chat about.
A few days before our session, I'll reach out to confirm the time. If someone seems to be coming down with an illness, we can talk about our rescheduling options. Otherwise, that's the perfect time to ask any last minute questions or let me know if you've come up with an idea that we haven't discussed.
The day of your session, plan to spend up to 3 hours here (especially if there are siblings). Newborns don't always take this long, but I like to stay flexible just in case. If one parent has to leave for work but the rest of the family is still available, let me know ahead of time so I can focus on getting that parent in photos while they're still available.
Finally, take a deep breath... I promise to make it as painless as possible for everyone involved, and make sure we have some fun!
Step 3: The fun part!
Within a couple of weeks, I'll send you an email letting you know that your photos are ready. I display your photos in a slideshow set to music, which is such a fun and meaningful way to view them! The slideshow is available for 24 hours, and you choose when that timeframe begins. Once you've had a chance to marvel at your photos for a bit, you can decide which image collection suits your family best.
After you purchase your collection, you'll have a full month to choose which digital files to download and which items to spend your print credit on. If you're having a tough time deciding which product(s) you like best, I'm happy to set up a time to talk to help you with your decision!
